Power of the Purse

A Woman's Impact Fund

About Power of the Purse

Follow Us

Power of the Purse was established in 2009 by women from the West Chester/Liberty Community Foundation as a women's giving circle. It began with the idea of having 100 women each contribute $100 annually, pooling resources to offer a $10,000 grant to a local charity supporting women and children in West Chester/Liberty Township. Over time, it has grown and transformed into the Women's Impact Fund. Power of the Purse continues to grant $10,000 annually to Butler County non profits serving women and children.

Our Mission:  Empowering, connecting and giving to women and children in Butler County to build a better future.  Since 2009, Power of the Purse (POP) has granted over $180,000 to local nonprofit organizations.

EDGE Teen Center received the POP Grant in 2020 during a critical time for so many non-profits. Because of the generosity of so many amazing local women, we were able to continue to serve teens and were prepared to meet their unique needs coming out of the pandemic. This group and this grant truly makes a difference in our local community!
- Sara Gabbard, EDGE Teen Center

The POP grant allowed us to purchase raw materials needed to provide beds to some very deserving kids in our community. The smile on their faces when seeing their very own bed is priceless!

- Eileen Watkins, Sleep in Heavenly Peace

As the need for mental health services continues to rise among children and adolescents, your support has enabled us to provide essential behavioral health services to 222 children and young adults. Early intervention is critical, and we are proud to be recipients of the POP grant, for offering Play Therapy at this crucial stage in their development.
